Over the past five years, ASANE has also organized or co-organized the following events:
Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Virtual Gala
ASANE co-organized with the Global Star Alliance to successfully host the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Virtual Gala. Each year, a large number of overseas Chinese community audiences around the world watch this online celebration and the performances are always well received.
“Farewell to the Old Year and Welcome a New Chapter” — 2021 Chinese New Year Virtual Celebration.
In February 2021, ASANE teamed up with Phoenix Chinese Dance Academy to organize the very first Chinese American Chinese New Year Virtual Gala. This event was a success.
During this Virtual Chinese New Year Celebration Gala, ASANE and Phoenix invited local Chinese American performing artists and cultural organizations, along with professional performing artists from around the world, including China, Singapore, Europe, etc. to perform online. The Chinese American audience in Minnesota, other parts of the US as well as the audience in China and around the world witnessed and experienced stunning Chinese acrobatics, vocal music, dance, traditional musical instrument performance, and other fine performances.
Blowing the Whistle Campaign
In 2021, ASANE worked with Minnesota Chinese World to organize a highly meaningful “Blowing the Whistle” campaign. This campaign was launched in the aftermath of the six Asian women who were slain by a white shooter in Atlanta, US, causing a massive outcry in the US Asian Americans communities. The purpose of this campaign was to raise the awareness of protection of Asian’s lives and prevent Asian hatred crime. ASANE and Minnesota Chinese World volunteers distributed 1,300 whistles outside various Asian supermarkets in the Twin Cities areas.
2022 China Central TV(CCTV) Youth Talent Competition
During the Spring and Summer of 2022, ASANE recommended and organized more than 30 Chinese American young students from different middle schools and artistic groups in the Twin Cities area to participate at China Central TV(CCTV) Youth Talent Competition. Through global auditions, 27 students successfully entered the semi-finals, showcasing their outstanding talents in dance, instrumental music, rhythmic gymnastics, photography and painting, and won various awards in the semi-finals of the competition. These students were invited to compete at the final competition in China. They eventually did not compete due to covid travel restrictions, but the experiences and achievements the students had were deemed to be commendable and unforgettable.
Jamie Ford, the New York Times bestseller The Many Daughters of Afong Moy, New Book Promotion
In 2022, ASANE teamed up with Literature Lovers Night™, Valley Bookseller, University of Minnesota China Center, and Minnesota Chapter of the US-China People’s Friendship Association to co-organize a fun book sharing session for Jamie Ford, the author of, The Many Daughters of Afong Moy, a New York Times bestseller. The event was welcomed and highly praised by the author himself as well as the local Chinese community in Minnesota and many literature lovers in the Twin Cities area.
NACUAA-North America Chinese University Alumni Alliance Best Voice Competition Minnesota Division
In 2023, NACUAA-North America Chinese University Alumni Alliance Best Voice Competition took place in North America. ASANE successfully set up and organized the Minnesota/Midwest Division by inviting University of Minnesota music loving students and Chinese American singers from Minnesota and Chicago Chinese communities to participate. Three top winners of the Minnesota Division entered the finals competition held in Los Angeles.
