Founder and President Christina Deng Morrison

Christina is a savvy professional in media and public relations and a highly experienced event organizer. She has successfully utilized her outstanding bilingual ability in both Chinese and English, superb and meticulous event planning and organization skills to demonstrate her love of different cultures and passion for volunteering in the Twin Cities.

Christina has organized or co-organized a great number of large-scale events and activities in the areas of cultures, art, business, and media, etc. These events include the following:

  • 2015 “Voice of Peace”, a large-scale Twin Cities Chinese community event to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Japanese Invasion War and World War II.
  • 2017 “Mall of America Celebrating the Chinese New Year” event, the first such event in MOA.
  • 2017 “Happy Spring Festival: Chinese Bamboo Rhythm” a special concert performance by the Beijing Bamboo Orchestra. Concurrently, Christina also successfully co-hosted the large-scale Minnesota Spring Festival Gala “Happy Spring Festival, Beautiful Jiangxi” event, performed by Jiangxi Artistic Troupe.
  • 2017 “Cultural China: MN Moon, Longing for Home”, a Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration event in the Twin Cities area.
  • 2018 “A Chinese Celebration with Guangdong Charm” in the Twin Cities, an event performed by Guangdong Song and Dance Performing Arts Troupe.
  • 2018 “The Greatest Spirit” Overseas Premier Show, a poetic and musical gala performed by the Sichuan Song and Dance Theater, it was later claimed by the audience as “the best professional Chinese show ever presented in the Twin Cities area”.
  • 2019 “A Rainbow of Rhythms – a Chinese Musicians Spring Festival Concert”, the first all professional Chinese musicians’ concert in Minnesota.
  • 2020 “Global Star Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Virtual Gala” and 2020 large-scale “New Year Overseas Jiangxi People A New Style Virtual Concert”.

Christina has worked extremely hard to help promote China Friendship Garden via Minnesota Chinese World Chinese language platform, a social media outlet. She has personally written and published many Chinese articles and news reports about this friendship garden. Minnesota Chinese World was awarded “The Best Media” at 2019 Garden Grand Opening Gala Banquet hosted by Minnesota China Friendship Garden Society.

Christina possesses volunteer leadership roles in several non-profit organizations, including Editor in Chief of Minnesota Chinese World, Co-Chair of “Global Star Alliance”, Vice President of Chinese American Business Association of Minnesota (CABAM), Board Director of Minnesota China Friendship Garden Society (MCFGS) and President of US-Jiangxi Development Association.

Christina holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Nanchang University in China, a master’s degree in Eastern European Literature from Belgrade University in Serbia and a master’s degree in communications from University of Mississippi.
